摘要: The Kaigorodov space is a homogeneous Einstein space and it describes a pp-wave propagating in anti-de Sitter space. It is conjectured in the literature that M-theory or string theory on the Kaigorodov space times a compact manifold is dual to a conformal field theory in an infinitely-boosted frame with constant momentum density. In this Letter we present a charged generalization of the Kaigorodov space by boosting a non-extremal charged domain wall to the ultrarelativity limit where the boost velocity approaches the speed of light. The finite boost of the domain wall solution gives the charged generalization of the Carter-Novotny-Horsky metric. We study the thermodynamics associated with the charged Carter-Novotny-Horsky space and discuss its relation to that of the static black domain walls and its implications in the domain wall/QFT (quantum field theory) correspondence. 摘要: Using a 7-qubit spin Liouville space computer, we have demonstrated successfully a fetching algorithm that finds marked items using only a single query. The essential idea is the operation of quantum computers in classical parallel. We gave the detailed pulse sequence for coherent control of the 7 qubits. A generalization of the pulse sequences for arbitrary qubit number is also provided. 摘要: One ambiguity in loop quantum gravity is the appearance of a free parameter which is called the Immirzi parameter. Recently Dreyer has argued that this parameter may be fixed by considering the quasinormal mode spectrum of black holes, while at the price of changing the gauge group to SO(3) rather than the original one SU(2). Physically such a replacement is not quite natural or desirable. In this paper we study the relationship between the black hole entropy and the quasinormal mode spectrum in the loop quantization of N=1 supergravity. We find that a single value of the Immirzi parameter agrees with the semiclassical expectations as well. But in this case the lowest supersymmetric representation dominates, fitting well with the result based on statistical consideration. 摘要: The Noether-charge and the Hamiltonian realizations for the diff(M) algebra in diffeomorphism-invariant gravitational theories without a cosmological constant in any dimension are studied in a covariant formalism. We analyze how the Hamiltonian functionals form the diff(M) algebra under the Poisson brackets and show how the Noether charges with respect to the diffeomorphism generated by the vector fields and their variations in n-dimensional general relativity form this algebra. The asymptotic behaviors of vector fields generating diffeomorphism of the manifold with boundaries are discussed. It is shown that the "central extension" for a large class of vector fields is always zero on the Killing horizon. We also check whether choosing the vector fields near the horizon may pick up the Virasoro algebra. 摘要: Recent fits of cosmological parameters by a Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) measurement favor a primordial scalar spectrum with a varying index. This result, if it stands, could severely constrain inflation model building. Most extant slow-roll inflation models allow for only a tiny amount of scale variations in the spectrum. 摘要: Motivated by the recent neutron-diffraction experiment on YVO3, we consider a microscopic model where each V3+ ion is occupied by two 3d electrons of parallel spins with twofold-degenerate orbital configurations. The mean-field classical solutions of the spin-orbital superexchange model predicts an antiferro-orbital ordering at a higher temperature followed by a C-type antiferromagnetic spin ordering at a lower temperature. 摘要: The first year results of WMAP tentatively indicate running of the spectral index as well as a deficit of power in the low multipoles in the CMB spectrum. The former can be rather easily understood in the noncommutative inflation model, and the latter, as we shall show in this paper, still appears to be an anomaly, even though the noncommutative inflation model already suppresses the low multipoles to a certain degree. 摘要: The macroscopic deformed potential energy for super-heavy nuclei (263)Db, which governs the entrance and alpha decay channels, is determined within a generalized liquid drop model (GLDM). A quasi-molecular shape is assumed in the GLDM, which includes volume-, surface-, and Coulomb-energies, proximity effects, mass asymmetry, and an accurate nuclear radius. The microscopic single particle energies are derived from a shell model in an axially deformed Woods-Saxon potential with a quasi-molecular shape. The shell correction is calculated by the Strutinsky method. The total deformed potential energy of a nucleus can be calculated by the macro-microscopic method as the summation of the liquid-drop energy and the Strutinsky shell correction. The theory is applied to predict the deformed potential energy of the experiment Ne-22 + Am-241 --> (263)Db* --> (259)Db + 4n, which was performed on the Heavy Ion Accelerator in Lanzhou. It is found that the neck in the quasi-molecular shape is responsible for the deep valley of the fusion barrier due to the shell corrections. In the cold fusion path, the double-hump fusion barrier is predicted by the shell correction and complete fusion events may occur.2012-08-30T01:14:23Z
