AbstractThe 2-nu-beta-beta-decay matrix elements of Ge-76, Se-82, Mo-100 and Te-130 are calculated by use of a new approach - the operator expansion method. This new method does not require any information about the intermediate states and avoids limitations unavoidable in approaches calculating the full spectrum of intermediate states explicity. It thus overcomes, e.g., the extreme dependence of QRPA on the strength of the particle-particle interaction, and seems to be a major step beyond this latter approach.
