英文摘要: Symbolic dynamics is developed for the sine-square map, which is related to a hybrid optical bistability device with liquid crystal as the nonlinear medium in the cavity. In particular, the skeleton of superstable orbits in the kneading plane has been constructed. Using this nontrivial example we give a systematic presentation of recent progress in applied symbolic dynamics in order to acquaint practitioners in nonlinear dynamics with this powerful tool.
