AbstractThe topological Kazama-Suzuki models are realized as gauged Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) models. Instead of gauging supersymmetric WZW models, we start with the bosonic theories. Two different subgroups of the group G(L) x G(R) are gauged: one is left-right symmetric and another is asymmetric. In the asymmetric case, the anomaly-free condition is still satisfied. We show that the resultant models possess hidden fermionic symmetries, which make the interpretation of these theories as topological field theories accessible. We compare these two different ways of gauging the subgroups and point out that they are related by a particular type of duality symmetry, namely, the mirror symmetry of the target spaces.
