Pion inelastic scattering from Sn-118 with excitation to 3(1)(-) state

摘要The description of the medium energy pion-nucleus inelastic scattering which excites the target from ground state to a negative parity state is discussed in the approach of combining Eikonal approximation with spdf Interacting Boson Model. The calculated differential cross sections of the 163 MeV pi(+/-)-Sn-118 scattering with excitation from 0(1)(+) state to 3(1)(-) state and the deformation parameter of the 3(1)(-) state agree with experimental data quite well. It indicates that the low-lying states of Sn-118 can be described in the IBM. The effects of multiple scattering and nuclear structure correlation are shown to be important in the scattering process.
