AbstractWe studied the behavior of the Maxwell displacement current for a cylindrically symmetric molecule with a point dipole at an angle to the symmetry axis, assuming that the biaxiality ordering of the molecular orientation of the monolayers at the liquid-air interface is induced by the image force of the dipole and is responsible for the generation of the current. The contribution of theta(D), the angle of the molecular dipole from the molecule long-axis, to the generation of the Maxwell displacement current by monolayer compression has been clarified by taking into account the parameter eta which represents the interaction working of the image forces.
