Entire period halving of persistent current in a mesoscopic double-ring system

AbstractFor the non-interacting electrons confined by a mesoscopic double-ring with a magnetic flux threading its centre, we consider the problem of persistent current at zero and finite temperatures. Furthermore, the tight-binding model is applied to give the expression of persistent current in this system. It is shown that, in this double-ring system, the phenomenon of entire period halving will occur.
