Density dependence of the beta decay width in astronuclear matter

AbstractBy combining the four-fermion interaction theory and the linear sigma-omega model, we propose an approach to describe the density dependence of the beta-decay width (the half-life time of the decay) in infinite and charge-neutral nuclear matter. We find that the half-life time of the beta-decay decreases rapidly with the increase of the nuclear matter density.
