Shape probe of Hg and Pt isotopes by alpha decay

摘要We have used the modified two-potential approach to investigate the favored a decays to the ground and low-lying 0(+) states of neutron-deficient Hg and Pt isotopes within the density-dependent cluster model. The deformation values are directly extracted from the available experimental half-lives and decay energies of a transitions from Pb and Hg isotopes. The calculations can be employed to probe the phenomenon of shape coexistence near the Z = 82 shell closure, and a triplet of different shaped 0(+) states in Pb-186 is confirmed. The variation of the nuclear deformation for the ground state versus the neutron number is demonstrated, and the present results are compared with the available experimental deformation values.
