Production of B(c) or (B)over-bar(c) meson and its excited states via (t)over-bar-quark or t-quark decays

摘要The production of (b (c) over bar)-quarkonium ((B) over bar (c) meson and its excited states) or (c (b) over bar)-quarkonium (B(c) meson and its excited states) via top quark t or top antiquark (t) over bar decays, t ->(b (c) over bar)+c+W(+) or (t) over bar ->(c (b) over bar)+(c) over bar +W(-), respectively, is studied within the framework of NRQCD. In addition to the production of the two color-singlet S-wave states |(b (c) over bar)((1)S(0))(1)> or |(c (b) over bar)((1)S(0))(1)> and |(b (c) over bar)((3)S(1))(1)> or |(c (b) over bar)((3)S(1))(1)>, the production of the P-wave excited (b (c) over bar) or (c (b) over bar) states, i.e. the four color-singlet P-wave states |(b (c) over bar)((1)P(1))(1)> or |(c (b) over bar)((1)P(1))(1)>, and (b (c) over bar)((3)P(J))(1)> or (c (b) over bar)((3)P(J))(1)> (with J=(1,2,3)), is also studied. According to the velocity scaling rule of NRQCD, for the production of P-wave excited states the contributions from the two color-octet components |(b (c) over bar)((1)S(0))(8)> or |(c (b) over bar)((1)S(0))(8)> and |(b (c) over bar)((3)S(1))(8)> or |(c (b) over bar)((3)S(1))(8)> are also taken into account. We quantitatively discuss the possibility and the advantages in experimental studies of B(c) or (B) over bar (c) meson and its excited states via the indirect production at LHC in high luminosity runs and at LHC possible upgraded versions such as SLHC, DLHC, TLHC, etc. in the future.
