beta-Decay of neutron-rich nucleus N-18

AbstractWe used the shell model to investigate the beta decays of the neutron-rich nucleus N-18. The reduced transition strengths B(GT) of Gamow-Teller beta decays in N-18 are calculated with the different interactions in the psd shell space; the results are compared and dicussed. A series of consistent results with the recent experimental data are found in this shell space, which seems to show that the observed properties of N-18 and O-18 are mainly produced in psd shell space. In addition, a B(GT) value is predicted around 9.5MeV in our calculation. These will be useful in the future experiment.
