AbstractConfiguration-constrained calculations of potential-energy surfaces have been performed to study the shape of the K-pi = 7(-) isomer in Ce-130. The calculated excitation energy agrees well with the experimental data. The resulting deformation indicates that this isomer has a prolate shape as large as that of the ground state. However, the potential energy surface of the isomeric state is remarkably soft ion the gamma degree of freedom, which would be an indication of the K mixing.
